Supplements — frequently asked questions
Does collagen actually work?
Collagen is the main structural protein in the human body, and research on collagen peptides is ongoing. However, the EU has not authorised any health claims for collagen relating to skin, hair, nails or joints, so we make no such promises. Collagen peptides are high in protein, and protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass and of normal bones. A food supplement should not replace a varied diet.
How much collagen should I take per day?
The recommended daily serving of JuniKa Natur Premium Bovine Collagen Peptides is 20 g (2 scoops) — the 460 g pack provides 23 servings. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. The unflavoured powder dissolves in water, coffee, a smoothie or yoghurt.
How do I prepare collagen peptides?
Add 2 scoops (20 g) to a hot or cold drink or to yoghurt and stir until dissolved. You can take it at any time of day. Store the pack closed in a cool, dry place, out of reach of young children.
Can a collagen supplement replace testing or treatment of deficiencies?
No. A food supplement is not intended to treat or prevent disease or deficiencies. If you suspect a deficiency (e.g. iron or vitamin D), a home screening test can give you a first indication — always discuss an abnormal result with a doctor.
Can I take collagen with other supplements?
If you take other supplements or medicines, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a medical condition, ask a doctor or pharmacist before use. Collagen peptides are of bovine origin, so they are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
Are iLabU supplements laboratory-tested?
According to the brand, JuniKa Natur collagen peptides are analysed by SGS Institut Fresenius, including tests for heavy metals and pesticides. For details on laboratory analyses, contact us at info@ivdgroup.eu.
