Rapid tests — frequently asked questions

What does the CE mark on a rapid test actually mean?

The CE mark confirms that the test meets EU requirements for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices. For self-tests, the CE mark is followed by the number of the notified body that assessed the device — you will find the number for a specific test on its product page. Without CE marking a test cannot be sold legally as an in-vitro diagnostic in the EU.

How accurate are home rapid tests compared to laboratory ones?

The sensitivity and specificity of each test, based on the manufacturer's instructions for use, are listed on its product page. The main difference is that they detect a single marker at a single threshold — rather than reporting a numeric value across a range.

How much does a rapid diagnostic test cost?

iLabU rapid tests start at 15 PLN; the current price of each test is shown on its product page. Free shipping over 100 PLN. There are no medical-consultation fees and no laboratory queue — the test is in your hands within 1-2 days from order.

Where can I buy CE-certified rapid tests in Poland?

Online directly from iLabU.pl with InPost Paczkomat delivery throughout Poland (1-2 business days). IVD Group is the importer and distributor of JusChek tests in Poland.

Do rapid tests have an expiration date?

Yes — every CE-IVD test has a guaranteed shelf life printed on the box and the foil pouch, typically 18-24 months from manufacturing. Storage: 2-30 °C, dry, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, the foil pouch must be used within 60 minutes; the cassette absorbs ambient humidity quickly.

Can I use one test for multiple diagnostic purposes?

No — each rapid test is dedicated to one biomarker. Trying to read an LH ovulation test for pregnancy (hCG) or a thyroid test for diabetes will simply give an invalid result, because the antibody coating on the strip is biomarker-specific. Always order the test that matches your question.
